Frequantly Asked Questions

Are the herbs you use organic?

I often go for the organic options when purchasing my herbs. However, not everything I use is listed as organic or certified organic. I do this for cost reasons. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense financially to spend hundreds of dollars more for a product. If I did that, I would have to raise my prices, and fewer people would have access to enjoy my blends. Besides, herbs don't have to be organic for you to get the benefits from them. If you would like a list of my organic herbs or wish to request a fully organic custom blend, please contact me. I am happy to do it.

What shipping carrier do you use?

For most packages, I use Sendle. The reason I use Sendle is that they are 100%  certified carbon neutral! I do pay a little extra, but I do NOT pass that on to my customers! I don't feel it is fair to pass that additional cost on to you because it is MY choice to use a carbon-neutral delivery company. On top of that, all the shipping packaging I use is recyclable, and some is even made from recycled goods.

On the rare occasion, mostly for very rural locations or heavier packages, I am forced to use AusPost. Sendle's price sometimes just gets out of control, and I can end up getting a quote that is almost the same price as the order! Because AusPost has a wider reach, those rural areas are about half the price.

What does your company do to be eco-friendly/ethical/bio-aware?

I do the best I can, where it makes sense. My fire honey, fancy teas, candles, and salts are all packaged in reusable/recyclable glass containers. Most of the gems I use in my Handcrafted altar brooms are found stones. Limited-edition candles are typically poured into upcycled containers. Every single bone I use/display/sell is ethically sourced with zero exceptions. All flora I use in my Handcrafted items are harvested by me. Any white sage seen in my products is either harvested by me or sourced from Indigenous sources, as it is sacred medicine in my culture. All the eggshells and rosemary I use in my practice are harvested by me. All of my packaging is recyclable or reusable. I have no single-use plastics. Most items not made by me are sourced from small, family-owned Australian businesses or local artisans, and this includes all the herbs I use in my teas as well. If you are ever in doubt about something, please feel free to ask. I am very transparent about these things.

A Chaos Witch that does Voodoo?! That means you do black magic ?! *grabs pitchfork and torch*

I can't believe it is 2025 and these negative cultural stereotypes still exist.

Firstly, there is no such thing as white magic or black magic. All magic holds the same power. Let me help you understand this before we move on. Say you do a manifestation for wealth and abundance, two things that, if there were a binary system, would be seen as typical white magic. Three days later, you find a hundred dollars in the parking lot. That money didn't fall out of the sky. Someone, a real person, lost that money for you to gain it. If I were to hex someone to lose money, something that would be seen as black magic, they lose that money, and someone else finds it. There is no binary; all magic is balanced in the end. No good, no bad, no black, no white, just magic, just power.

Now there are different modalities for how you create or manifest your magic. Mine is Chaos! Which makes me a Chaos Witch. This does not mean it is bad or morally wrong. As a Chaos Witch, I have freedom. I do not have to conform to one cultural practice; I can draw from all or any I see fit for my intentions. Think of it as a jack of all trades that is good at thinking on their feet and knows how to utilise anything to get the job done. Don't have a hammer, that's fine, this random hard object will work. Currently, I am using my dog grooming brush to hang pictures in my home. It may not be the tool a carpenter would use, but for me, it gets the job done. Now apply this to magic. I will find a way to do what I need to do, no matter my tools. So, not evil, just an innovative thinker!

On to Voodoo. My Voodoo branch is Louisiana Voodoo, which differs a bit from Haitian Vodou. I don't think it is appropriate to go into detail in a FAQ. Maybe I will write a blog or something, but as always, if you have questions, ask. The main thing you need to know is that Voodoo is not evil. In simple terms, it is monotheistic, but there is a belief in spirits that kinda act as a go-between between us and this god. You can call on these spirits to help and guide you (they may require an offering). There is also a strong connection to ancestors and the belief that they can be called on for support as well. Voodoo focuses on balance between the worlds, love, compassion and kindness. A very large part of Voodoo magic involves healing, protection and overall well-being, with herbal remedies being one of the preferred methods with a strong emphasis on ritual.  It is a closed practice, and because of that, most people do not know the true nature of Voodoo.  Voodoo is much more complex than I can give you here, and I do not claim to know everything.  I am sure, however, now that you know a little bit, you will start noticing a bit of Voodoo here and there in my Handcrafted items, especially in my talismans.

TLDR: Not evil, no black magic, Chaos Witch just means I get shit done, my way. Voodoo is a practice of love and compassion and focuses on protection and healing through herbs.

I acknowledge the Wathaurong and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, whose cultures and customs nurture the land, waters, and seas upon which we live, work, and learn, and their rich, continual contributions to society. I wish to pay my respects to the Elders, past and present, and I honour the presence of these ancestors, who reside in the stories of this land, as I walk in their footprints.
